I am in love with the mountains. Their tops are tipped with snow.
I am in love with those giant hills. They’re where I want to go.
I am in love with their splendor. They mean so much to me.
Yes, I am in love with the mountains in their depths I’m free.
I love to see the Aspens. I love to hear the birds.
I love it when I hear the wind sing its gentle words.
When I explore the mountain depths, the beauty that I find
Is like no other place on earth. It’s dazzling to my mind!
I love the giant rocks, the greenness of the trees,
The sound of the water, and the coolness of a breeze.
When I am in their meadows, I feel the mystery of peace.
For no matter where I travel, their beauty will not cease.
I see a mighty land, I see a giant shore,
I love the ocean, and the plains, but mountains I love more.
The blueness of a Kansas sky. The Carolina surf.
They are great but nothing’s like a rocky mountain turf!
I step out on the hill top, and look out o’er the land.
And what I see is regal, so awesome, and so grand!
Of all the places I’ve been, and all I want to go,
There’s not another place so pretty, this I already know.
For in the mountains I see beauty hidden beneath the hand
Of a mighty, powerful, awe-inspiring land.
The tiny, colored flowers that open up each day
Are settled gently on a cliff that simply seems to say,
“The mountains hold adventure. And if you come and see,
There within the danger are drops of grand beauty!”
God, the Great Creator, made the mountains tall.
He made the plains. He made the sea. Yes, my God made them all!
I see God’s mighty power everywhere I am.
Yet nothing quite expresses Him like misty mountains can!
